Notice: I’m also blogging over at developer.podshow.com. For a while I’ve been trying to figure out what posts belong where. Obviously the podcasting material belongs over there, but as an experiment I think I’m also going to stick a lot of the geeky stuff there as well, saving this space for personal material, stuff that is specific to Alameda and anything else that doesn’t really fit there. Let’s see how it goes!
The West Coast & Alaska Tsunami Warning Center has an updating message page with the following evaluation as of 1648 UTC: “BASED ON THE LOCATION – MAGNITUDE AND HISTORICAL RECORDS THE EARTHQUAKE WAS NOT SUFFICIENT TO GENERATE A TSUNAMI DAMAGING TO CALIFORNIA – OREGON – WASHINGTON – BRITISH COLUMBIA OR ALASKA. SOME OF THESE AREAS MAY EXPERIENCE SMALL SEA LEVEL CHANGES. IN COASTAL AREAS OF INTENSE SHAKING LOCALLY GENERATED TSUNAMIS CAN BE TRIGGERED BY UNDERWATER LANDSLIDES.”
fineartdoctor.com on ebay’s impact in the art world: “It has saved [artists] the need to go through tradition venues like publishers and galleries.” Interesting parallels with podcasting.
