Okay I’ve heard this term enough times lately but didn’t have precise notion of what it meant. That is, until just now when I looked it up: “An Ad Hominem is a general category of fallacies in which a claim or argument is rejected on the basis of some irrelevant fact about the author of or the person presenting the claim or argument.”
New York Times: “British Airways canceled a flight from Heathrow Airport to Washington on Friday, the third time in three days that the flight was disrupted on security advice from the British government.”
Sigh. I honestly think another 9/11-style hijacking attack won’t be possible for years—maybe decades—to come. The element of surprise is gone, passengers will fight back. A sophisticated enemy is going to know that.
Jim Moore: “Blogs are weak tie machines!”
Heh, I finally made it over to the Grand Coffeehouse with my laptop. They still have a free wireless Internet!
Happy New Year, everybody!
